About me

Hi there! My name is Shubho, I am a student studying Computer Science at Toronto Metropolitan University. My interests are in software engineering, specifically web development, data science and machine learning. I have gained experience in programming languages such as Java, Python, and SQL and web development technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I am constantly seeking to improve my skills and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies. I am always open to new opportunities and excited to continue learning in my field.

Projects

Stop Sign Detection

Developed a stop sign detection model using a sliding window approach and mean square error for similarity comparison. Implemented image pyramids to efficiently search for stop signs at different scales.

Blobbl

Opportunity to learn game development, attempt at 3D-perspective of classic game, Agar.io. Learned to use C++ in the context of game development and attempts at multiplayer functionality.

Work

Sponsorship Associate of MetHacks - TMU

Contributed to the development and execution of the hackathon as a member of the executive team, which drew over 300 participants. Managed sponsorship data, including updating and maintaining spreadsheets, email logs, and sponsorship resources. Engaged with potential sponsors such as faculties, student organizations, and corporations to discuss terms and conditions and secure invoices for sponsorship agreements.

VP of Rocketry Club - Danforth CTI

Founded and led the school's first rocketry club, which grew to over 100 members. Managed club operations and facilitated communication between sub-teams (Aerodynamics, Electronics, etc.) to ensure successful club events and projects.

Science Mentor - U of T

I mentored students at the University of Toronto's AIS organization for STEM fields, providing resources, advice and support as they navigated their chosen field. I also gave presentations to share my experiences and insights to motivate and inspire them in their journey. My goal was to empower these students to achieve their dreams of working in STEM fields.
